Get a free fat trap this year when buying your Christmas turkey or roast!
Every Christmas season thousands of homes and businesses around the country suffer from sewer blockages because people pour cooking fat, grease and oil down their kitchen sinks, leading to floods which are expensive to clear, according to the Water UK's latest publication.
This year, the UK water companies are working together with Sainsbury's and Waitrose to give away around 200,000 fat traps and funnels to customers shopping for their Christmas roast or turkey. The good thing about these traps is that they can also be used to collect the FOG (fat, oil and grease) for recycling.
